The Story Behind PlanOutfittr

One evening, me and my partner was about to go out for a night out with friends on a weekend. And the familiar question came up "Babe, what should I wear?" My immediate response was "I don't know, you have so many clothes, pick a few and see which suits?"

……. 30 minutes later, "Babe, I still don't know what to wear? Should I wear this top with this bottom, also which shoes will go with it?"

……. 10 minutes after that "Babe I am not sure about this outfit, what do you think?"

If you've ever been "fashionably late," there's a good chance you've experienced this exact situation.

Then I realised something.

This wasn't just a weekend problem.

It's the same dilemma many of us face every weekday morning before work, before an important client meeting, before a first date, or before a holiday. What should have been a quick five-minute decision somehow turns into twenty or thirty minutes of trying on outfits, making a mess of the wardrobe, and eventually giving up to wear the same outfit we've worn countless times before.

The problem isn't that we don't own enough clothes.

The real problem is that we forget what we already own.

We don't remember that shirt hidden behind five jackets, or those trousers we haven't worn in months. Even when we do, it's hard to visualise which pieces actually work together. So instead of making the most of our wardrobe, we end up wearing only a small fraction of it.

For many of us, we don't have problems of not having enough clothes, we just don't remember we have most of the clothes we have and how they would match with each other to make us look good, you know… to seize the day!

That's when the idea for PlanOutfittr was born.

Two months later, after building the first version of the app, I handed it to my partner to try.

My partner said "Babe, this is lifesaver". Compliments taken.

PlanOutfittr — simply put is an AI-powered wardrobe planner designed to help you get more out of the clothes you already own. To start with, upload photos of your clothing items, organise them into categories, and let AI generate outfit combinations in seconds. You can preview different looks, save your favourites, and plan outfits days or even weeks in advance.

You don't need a professional studio or perfectly edited photos.

Just hang your clothing on a hanger, snap a photo in good lighting, and upload it. The app automatically helps you organise your wardrobe, and you can even create your own custom clothing categories if the defaults don't fit your style.
